Ellaidhoo is a small coral island with a total land area of 55,625 square meters. The island is 300 meters long and 280 meters wide, and is covered by thick tropical vegetation. The total built up area of the island is only 7,060 square meters (12.7% of the total land area). The magnificent house reef just 20 meters away from the beach surrounding the island, is believed to be one of the best dive resort in the Maldives.
Ellaidhoo has one of the best house reefs of any resort island in the Maldives, just 20 metres away from the beach. Lobsters, turtles, white tip and grey reef sharks, jack fish, barracudas and tuna fish, just to name a few, can be observed among the beautiful multi-coloured soft corals of the house reef. If you are lucky, you may also see manta and eagle rays passing by. To the south of the island there is a vertical drop-off up to 25 metres with caves at three different levels starting from 6 metres.
